Meanwhile, a tropical wave in the Western Atlantic with a low chance of development is being monitored. This wave is expected to begin affecting the island on Friday. An increase in showers and thunderstorm activity with strong gusty winds is projected, particularly from Friday afternoon into Saturday morning. Residents are advised to monitor the progress of this disturbance and to be on alert.

Moderate seas are anticipated during the next 24 hours, with wave heights decreasing to 8.0ft in eastern coastal waters today. A Small Craft Advisory is now in effect. Small craft operators and sea bathers are advised to continue to exercise caution. An increase in wave heights can again be expected by Friday.
